Use of the portfolio as an alternative methodology in teaching and learning of the digestive system: a study with students of the third year of high school

O sistema digestório é estudado nas disciplinas de Ciências e Biologia. Por se tratar do corpo humano, é um conteúdo de grande relevância no ambiente escolar e para a manutenção da saúde. Apesar da importância, verificamos que os processos de ensino e aprendizagem deste conteúdo ainda acontecem de forma tradicional dificultando a aprendizagem significativa. Dessa forma, é preciso aliar metodologias alternativas com o ensino tradicional como uma possibilidade de facilitar esses processos. Sendo assim, o presente trabalho teve por objetivo verificar a contribuição de portfólio para a aprendizagem do sistema digestório. Para isso, aplicamos questionários pré-teste, uma intervenção incluindo a elaboração de um portfólio pelos alunos, e um questionário pós teste. Nossos resultados demonstram que o uso de uma sequência didática com portfólio pode ser uma ferramenta eficiente nos processos de ensino e aprendizagem do sistema digestório.
The digestive system is studied in science and biology disciplines. This content is related to the human body, therefore is a relevant content in school and for the maintenance of health. Despite its importance, we find that the teaching and learning process of this content still happen in a traditional way hindering meaningful learning. So, its necessary to combine alternative and traditional methodologies to facilitate teaching and learning. The present work aimed to verify the contribution of portfolio to the learning processes of the digestive system. We apply a pre-test questionnaire, an intervention including the elaboration of the portfolio and a post-test questionnaire. Our results show that a didactic sequence using a portfolio can be an efficient tool in the teaching and learning process of the digestive system.
